All exterior changes to Lots must be approved in writing by the Architectural Review Committee. Examples of items that need approval are (but not limited to): new siding, new exterior painting, including shutters, doors, and trim, new roofs, fences, decks, sheds, major landscaping changes, etc. If you are unsure of whether or not you need approval, please contact us at 703-803-9641. When submitting any construction requests, a detailed drawing (plat) of the Lot must be provided. If applicable, please include color samples (e.g. for siding, new paint, etc).
The Covenants allow the Board 60 days to respond but we make every effort to respond in a timely fashion, typically within 2-3 weeks. If your request is approved by the Board, you will receive a copy of your form with notice of approval. If your request is rejected, you will also be notified in writing. Otherwise, Sequoia Management will contact you with any issues or questions.
